taps.land terms of service
taps.land is a free web game. By using it you agree to these terms.
Playing
- Playing is free. You get free taps every day, as described on the rules page (taps.land/rules).
- Taps have no cash value and can't be sold, cashed out or transferred to another player.
- Automated tapping, scripts, farms of accounts or anything that gets around the daily limits is not allowed. We remove such taps and may block the players or lands involved.
- Nicknames must not impersonate anyone or be offensive. We may change or remove any nickname.
Adding and owning websites
- Anyone can add a website once. Adding a site doesn't make you its owner; verifying it does.
- Only verify a site you control. The most recent verified owner controls the land.
- We may refuse or remove any land that is illegal, malicious, deceptive, not safe for work or breaks these terms, without notice.
- A land's size and rank come from players' taps. We never promise any number of taps, visits or sales.
What you can buy
- Everything in taps.land can be played for free. We sell six optional products, and each one's price and what it includes are shown before you pay.
- Pro: a monthly or yearly subscription for the verified owner of a website, with extras on the owner page and the land, including picking the land's color while it lasts, and the deed for its first 30 days, or 90 days on the yearly plan.
- Club: a monthly or yearly subscription for players, with extras like streak freezes and more websites a week. The founding monthly price goes to the first 500 founding members until the date shown, and stays the same for as long as you keep that subscription.
- Duel: a one-time payment that starts a 24-hour duel between two lands, Global or in one country. Both sides start at 0, only taps made in the duel count to it, and the higher score wins. It can be refunded until it starts, not after.
- Deed: a one-time payment that puts a verified-owner seal on a land.
- Jersey: a one-time payment for a numbered jersey of the team you're on, like Team #42. Each team numbers its jerseys in order of purchase and never reuses a number. It shows by your name while you're on that team and gives no taps, rank or score.
- Shield: a one-time payment that protects one land in the Heist. It stops the next 500 stolen taps or lasts 24 hours, whichever comes first, and the land can get a new shield 24 hours after it ends.
- League: a one-time payment that creates a private league, a weekly table of who tapped the most among its members. Joining is free for up to 100 members. It gives no taps and no rank.
- Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Subscriptions and ownership
- Pro and the Club renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt, and they stay on until the end of the period you paid for.
- Pro belongs to the owner who bought it. If someone else verifies the website, or its land is removed, that Pro ends right away and stops renewing, and the new owner doesn't get it.
- A bought deed belongs to the land, so it stays with it if the website changes hands.
- A jersey belongs to the player who bought it. Switching teams keeps it, and it shows again when you rejoin that team.
- No purchase changes a land's rank, size, category or country, or a player's place in Top tappers. Rankings can't be bought.
Refunds
- You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of any purchase, Pro, the Club, a deed, a jersey, a league or a shield, no questions asked, through Paddle's buyer support at paddle.net or through the Reach form at taps.land/?about=suggest.
- A shield can be refunded only until it stops its first stolen tap. A shield starts as soon as you pay, and you agree that once it stops a stolen tap you lose the right to cancel it, so a shield that has stopped a stolen tap is not refundable except where the law requires it.
- A duel can be refunded only until it starts. Paying for a duel asks us to start it when you press Start, when you tap one of its sides, or an hour after payment, and you agree that once it starts you lose the right to cancel it, so a started duel is not refundable except where the law requires it.
- After 14 days, payments are not refundable except where the law requires it.
- A refunded or charged-back purchase ends what it bought right away: Pro stops, the Club stops and takes back the streak freezes it gave, up to the ones you still hold, the duel is cancelled, the deed comes off the land, the jersey comes off your name while its number stays retired, the league closes for all its members, and the shield comes down.
